Synology RS411 RackStation NAS Server (Black)

The RS411 RackStation NAS Server from Synology is an excellent way to consolidate, store and stream data or multimedia files within your home or small business. While no drives are included with the RackStation, it supports a maximum capacity of 12TB and holds up to four 2.5" or 3.5" SATA(II) hard disk drives. Regardless of what drives you choose, the DiskStation can configure them to RAID 0, 1, 5, 5+Spare, 6, 10 or JBOD.

Made to fit in a business environment, this RackStation is designed for seamless file sharing across different operating systems, such as Windows, Mac and Linux. Windows ADS integration keeps things moving without the need to recreate user accounts on the RackStation. Internet file access on the RackStation is at a high security level with an encrypted FTP server. HTTPS, firewall and IP auto-block support ensures all important documents are secure and locked.

Additional features allow the RackStation to function more than just a backup server. Synology Web Station supports PHP/MySQL content for web hosting while Synology Surveillance Station consolidates IP cameras for monitoring an office environment. Synology Mail Station and Print Server make it easy to receive email and share print functionalities.

Cross Platform File Sharing & Backup

This RackStation offers a centralized backup target to consolidate fragmented and unstructured data across a network. PC users can back up their data to the RackStation using the free Synology Data Replicator software while Mac OS X users enjoy native Apple Time Machine integration. A web-based backup wizard is provided for backing up data in this RackStation to another Synology DiskStation, RackStation or any rsync server via an encrypted transmission as well as to an external hard drive via USB or eSATA connection. In addition, backing up to the cloud using Amazon S3 service is also supported

High Data Availability with Optimal Performance

This RackStation delivers an average reading speed of 107.75MB/s and an average writing speed of 47.71MB/s under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment. The two Gigabit Ethernet ports with failover support and hot-swappable drives will ensure continual service uptime in the event that the drives need replacement or unexpected network failure occurs
